न च तद् विद्यते किं चित् कर्म लोकेषु यद् भवेत् ॥
ब्राह्मणानाम् असाध्यं च त्रिषु संस्थानचारिषु ॥
अब्भक्षा वायुभक्षाश् च फलाहारा दृढव्रताः ॥
दुर्बला हि बलीयांसो विप्रा हि ब्रह्मतेजसा ॥
ब्राह्मणो नावमन्तव्यः सद् वासद् वा समाचरन् ॥
सुखं दुःखं महद् ध्रस्वं कर्म यत् समुपागतम् ॥

brāhmaṇānām asādhyaṃ ca triṣu saṃsthānacāriṣu ||

durbalā hi balīyāṃso viprā hi brahmatejasā ||
brāhmaṇo nāvamantavyaḥ sad vāsad vā samācaran ||
sukhaṃ duḥkhaṃ mahad dhrasvaṃ karma yat samupāgatam ||

सुखं दुःखं महत् ह्रस्वं कर्म यत् समुपागतम्sukhaṃ duḥkhaṃ mahat hrasvaṃ karma yat samupāgatamwhatever deed befalls him, be it joyful or sorrowful, great or small';

अनुवाद

"[And they said further:] 'There is no deed in the worlds that is unattainable for brahmins who move through the three worlds. Living on water, on air, on fruit, firm in their vows, though weak in body, they are strongest through brahmic power. A brahmin must not be despised, whether he does good or ill, whatever deed befalls him, be it joyful or sorrowful, great or small.'"
