यत्र यूपाः मणि-मयाःyatra yūpāḥ maṇi-mayāḥwhere jewel-studded sacrificial posts

शोभा-अर्थम् विहिताः तत्रśobhā-artham vihitāḥ tatrawere set up there for beauty,

Here the holiness of the place deepens: it partakes both of Indra, who attained perfection, and of the Lord of beings, the Creator of the worlds. It is telling that the posts there are set up "for beauty, not by pattern": where the highest is performed, even the outward form surpasses the ordinary measure. Thus scripture shows the incomparable source of the material; and further, the highest of ascetics at this sacrifice follow.
