Here the hidden truth reveals itself: the Lord Himself, as Nara-Narayana and as Vasudeva, performs sacrifice — "for the establishment of righteous custom." It is telling that the Supreme, who lacks nothing, sacrifices with faith: He Himself sets the example, so that people may walk the path of dharma seeing how He acts. Thus scripture shows the Lord's descent to sacrifice; and it is from this holy place that the material for the palace is taken.
