एवम् उक्तस् त्व् अवाक्शीर्षो विमनाः स सुयोधनः ॥
श्रुत्वाभिशप्तवन्तं त्वां ध्यानम् एवान्वपद्यत ॥
तम् आर्तम् अभिसंप्रेक्ष्य राजा किल स सैन्धवः ॥
मृदु चात्महितं चैव सापेक्षम् इदम् उक्तवान् ॥

evam uktas tv avākśīrṣo vimanāḥ sa suyodhanaḥ ||
śrutvābhiśaptavantaṃ tvāṃ dhyānam evānvapadyata ||
tam ārtam abhisaṃprekṣya rājā kila sa saindhavaḥ ||
mṛdu cātmahitaṃ caiva sāpekṣam idam uktavān ||

तम् आर्तम् अभिसंप्रेक्ष्यtam ārtam abhisaṃprekṣyalooking upon him, distressed; looking upon the distressed [Suyodhana]
राजा किल सः सैन्धवःrājā kila saḥ saindhavaḥthat king of Sindhu; that king of Sindhu
मृदु च आत्महितम् च एवmṛdu ca ātmahitam ca evagentle and to his own advantage; gentle and to his own profit

अनुवाद

Thus hearing this, head hung low, downcast Suyodhana, listening to the one who upbraided them, sank into brooding. Looking upon him, distressed, that king of Sindhu spoke — gently, to his own profit, and with an ulterior motive — the following word.
