धनुष्य् अस्त्रे च वीर्ये च प्राणे चैव तथोरसि ॥
अविषह्यतमा ह्य् एते निश्चिताः पार्थ षड् रथाः ॥
एतान् अजित्वा सगणान् नैव प्राप्यो जयद्रथः ॥
तेषाम् एकैकशो वीर्यं षण्णां त्वम् अनुचिन्तय ॥
सहिता हि नरव्याघ्रा न शक्या जेतुम् अञ्जसा ॥
भूयश् च चिन्तयिष्यामि नीतिम् आत्महिताय वै ॥
मन्त्रज्ञैः सचिवैः सार्धं सुहृद्भिः कार्यसिद्धये ॥
dhanuṣy astre ca vīrye ca prāṇe caiva tathorasi ||
aviṣahyatamā hy ete niścitāḥ pārtha ṣaḍ rathāḥ ||
etān ajitvā sagaṇān naiva prāpyo jayadrathaḥ ||
teṣām ekaikaśo vīryaṃ ṣaṇṇāṃ tvam anucintaya ||
sahitā hi naravyāghrā na śakyā jetum añjasā ||
bhūyaś ca cintayiṣyāmi nītim ātmahitāya vai ||
mantrajñaiḥ sacivaiḥ sārdhaṃ suhṛdbhiḥ kāryasiddhaye ||
"In the bow, in weapons, in valor, in vital strength and in strength of chest, these six chariot-warriors, O Partha, are held to be the most unbearable of all. Consider the valor of each of the six separately: together, these tigers among men are not easily overcome. And I shall further think of a plan for your good — together with counselors skilled in counsel, together with friends, for the success of the task."

Krishna does not flatter his friend with an easy task: the six are "aviṣahyatamāḥ", the most unbearable of all, and "sahitāḥ… na śakyāḥ jetum añjasā", together not easily overcome. And at once comes His care: "bhūyaḥ cintayiṣyāmi nītim ātmahitāya", "I shall further think of a plan for your good." It is telling that the Lord both names the difficulty soberly and takes its resolution upon Himself — and does so "with counselors and friends", not disdaining common counsel. The verse teaches that faith does not cancel prudence: trust in God and sound counsel go together, and the devotee acts entrusting the outcome to the Lord while not rejecting the reason given to him.
