देवनागरी
ततः पुरुषशार्दूलः सज्जः सज्जं पुरःसरः ॥
कृताह्निकाय पार्थाय न्यवेदयत तं रथम् ॥
तं तु लोके वरः पुंसां किरीटी हेमवर्मभृत् ॥
बाणबाणासनी वाहं प्रदक्षिणम् अवर्तत ॥

अनुवाद
Then the tiger among men [Krishna], prepared, going before, announced that prepared chariot to Partha, who had performed his daily rites. And he, the foremost of men in the world, crowned, clad in golden armor, with arrows and bow, circled it, keeping it to his right.

Even the readied chariot Arjuna "pradakṣiṇam avartata", circles keeping it to his right — honoring it as sacred before battle. It is telling that a warrior who has just performed the "āhnika", his daily rites, does not neglect the rite of reverence here either. A chariot whose charioteer is the Lord Himself deserves reverent circling. The verse teaches that the instrument of a righteous deed is sanctified by reverence: before mounting for battle one should honor both the chariot and the One who drives it; for any undertaking begun in reverence is blessed.
