देवनागरी
उभयोः पतिते छत्रे तथैव पतितौ ध्वजौ ॥
उभौ रुधिरसिक्ताङ्गाव् उभौ च विजयैषिणौ ॥
स्रवद्भिः शोणितं गात्रैः प्रस्रुताव् इव वारणौ ॥
अन्योन्यम् अभिविध्येतां जीवितान्तकरैः शरैः ॥

Of both, the parasols fell, and likewise the banners fell; both with limbs sprinkled with blood, and both seeking victory; with limbs streaming blood, like two elephants in must, they pierced each other with life-ending arrows.

Complete equality is shown as in a mirror: "ubhayoḥ… ubhau… ubhau," of both, both, both — parasols fallen, banners fallen, both bloodied, both craving victory. It is telling that this perfect correspondence leaves neither superior to the other. The verse teaches that in the duel of the truly equal, everything is leveled to a mirror-likeness: their wounds, their losses, their longing — identical; and such equality reveals that the outcome will be decided not by superiority, but only by whose side fate and the Lord stand on.
