अथापरेण भल्लेन सूतपुत्रं स्तनान्तरे ॥
आजघान भृशं भीमः स्मयन्न् इव महाबलः ॥
पुनर् अस्य त्वरन् भीमो नाराचान् दश भारत ॥
रणे प्रैषीन् महावेगान् यमदण्डोपमांस् तथा ॥
ते ललाटं समासाद्य सूतपुत्रस्य मारिष ॥
विविशुश् चोदितास् तेन वल्मीकम् इव पन्नगाः ॥
ललाटस्थैस् तु तैर् बाणैः सूतपुत्रो व्यरोचत ॥
नीलोत्पलमयीं मालां धारयन् स पुरा यथा ॥

athāpareṇa bhallena sūtaputraṃ stanāntare ||

raṇe praiṣīn mahāvegān yamadaṇḍopamāṃs tathā ||
te lalāṭaṃ samāsādya sūtaputrasya māriṣa ||
viviśuś coditās tena valmīkam iva pannagāḥ ||
lalāṭasthais tu tair bāṇaiḥ sūtaputro vyarocata ||
nīlotpalamayīṃ mālāṃ dhārayan sa purā yathā ||

नाराचान् दश भारतnārācān daśa bhārataten naracha-arrows, Bharata; ten naracha-arrows, O Bharata

अनुवाद

Then with another bhalla-arrow Bhima, the mighty one, as if smiling, struck the son of the suta hard [in] the chest. Again, hastening, Bhima, O Bharata, sent [in] battle ten swift naracha-arrows, also resembling the rod of Yama. They, having reached the forehead of the son of the suta, O honorable one, pierced in, sent by him, like serpents [into] an anthill. With those arrows [lodged] in the forehead, the son of the suta shone, as if wearing, as before, a garland [of] blue lotuses.
