चक्ररक्षाव् अपि तदा युधामन्यूत्तमौजसौ ॥
धनंजयरथं हित्वा राधेयं प्रत्युदीययुः ॥
राधेयो ऽपि महाराज शरवर्षं समुत्सृजन् ॥
अभ्यद्रवत् सुसंक्रुद्धो रणे शैनेयम् अच्युतम् ॥
नैव दैवं न गान्धर्वं नासुरोरगराक्षसम् ॥
तादृशं भुवि वा युद्धं दिवि वा श्रुतम् इत्य् उत ॥
उपारमत तत् सैन्यं सरथाश्वनरद्विपम् ॥
तयोर् दृष्ट्वा महाराज कर्म संमूढचेतनम् ॥
cakrarakṣāv api tadā yudhāmanyūttamaujasau ||
dhanaṃjayarathaṃ hitvā rādheyaṃ pratyudīyayuḥ ||
rādheyo 'pi mahārāja śaravarṣaṃ samutsṛjan ||
abhyadravat susaṃkruddho raṇe śaineyam acyutam ||
naiva daivaṃ na gāndharvaṃ nāsuroragarākṣasam ||
tādṛśaṃ bhuvi vā yuddhaṃ divi vā śrutam ity uta ||
upāramata tat sainyaṃ sarathāśvanaradvipam ||
tayor dṛṣṭvā mahārāja karma saṃmūḍhacetanam ||
And the two wheel-guards, Yudhamanyu and Uttamaujas, leaving Dhananjaya's chariot, advanced upon Radheya. Radheya, O great king, pouring out a rain of arrows, rushed in fury upon the unshaken Shainya in battle. Neither among gods, nor gandharvas, nor asuras, serpents, or rakshasas has such a battle been heard of — not on earth, nor in heaven. That army, with its chariots, horses, men, and elephants, fell motionless, O great king, seeing a deed of those two that left the mind bewildered.

The battle of Karna and Satyaki is such that the whole army stands still, its mind stunned: the grandeur of the clash surpasses understanding. It is notable that nothing like it has been heard of on earth or in heaven — valor reaches the utmost limit of the possible. The verse teaches that there are deeds before which every onlooker falls silent; and the meeting of two supreme men shows such a height that the very army forgets the battle, turning into a mute witness.
