तांस् तु सर्वांस् तथा दृष्ट्वा धावमानान् महारथान् ॥
न विव्यथे सूतपुत्रो न च त्रासम् अगच्छत ॥
दृष्ट्वा नगरकल्पं तम् उद्धूतं सैन्यसागरम् ॥
पिप्रीषुस् तव पुत्राणां संग्रामेष्व् अपराजितः ॥
सायकौघेन बलवान् क्षिप्रकारी महाबलः ॥
वारयाम् आस तत् सैन्यं समन्ताद् भरतर्षभ ॥

na vivyathe sūtaputro na ca trāsam agacchata ||
dṛṣṭvā nagarakalpaṃ tam uddhūtaṃ sainyasāgaram ||
piprīṣus tava putrāṇāṃ saṃgrāmeṣv aparājitaḥ ||
sāyakaughena balavān kṣiprakārī mahābalaḥ ||
vārayām āsa tat sainyaṃ samantād bharatarṣabha ||

अनुवाद

Seeing all those maharathas swooping down upon him, the charioteer's son did not waver, nor did he fall into fear. Seeing that surging ocean of an army, resembling a city, and wishing to please your sons, unconquered in battles, mighty, quick to act, exceedingly strong, he held back that army from every side with a stream of arrows, O bull among the Bharatas.
