यज्ञसेनस्य कामस् तु पाण्डवाय किरीटिने ॥
कृष्णां दद्याम् इति सदा न चैतद् विवृणोति सः ॥

Here the king's hidden intent is disclosed. It is telling that Drupada, though thinking the Pandavas dead, still wishes in his heart to give his daughter to Arjuna: his secret will coincides with the design of fate. Here one sees how the plans of men, unknown even to themselves, serve a higher plan: the king's hidden wish prepares what is destined to be regardless. Thus the scripture shows the coincidence of human will with providence; and Drupada's secret is the thread leading Draupadi to the Pandavas.
