यमौ तु तत्र राजेन्द्र यत्र कृष्णा प्रतिष्ठिता ॥
व्येतु ते मानसं दुःखं क्षत्रियाः स्मो नरर्षभ ॥
पद्मिनीव सुतेयं ते ह्रदाद् अन्यं ह्रदं गता ॥
इति तथ्यं महाराज सर्वम् एतद् ब्रवीमि ते ॥
भवान् हि गुरुर् अस्माकं परमं च परायणम् ॥
yamau tu tatra rājendra yatra kṛṣṇā pratiṣṭhitā ||
vyetu te mānasaṃ duḥkhaṃ kṣatriyāḥ smo nararṣabha ||
padminīva suteyaṃ te hradād anyaṃ hradaṃ gatā ||
iti tathyaṃ mahārāja sarvam etad bravīmi te ||
bhavān hi gurur asmākaṃ paramaṃ ca parāyaṇam ||
‘And the twins are there, where Krishna dwells. Let your heart's sorrow depart: we are kshatriyas, O bull among men. Like a lotus from one pool, your daughter has passed into another; thus, truly, O great king, I tell you all this, for you are our teacher and our supreme refuge.’

Here the consolation to the father is clothed in a luminous image. The comparison is significant: the daughter, ‘like a lotus, has passed from pool to pool’ — not lost, but transplanted into a worthy pond where she will bloom. Here it is shown that a good marriage does not take a daughter away but entrusts her to a kindred embrace. Also significant is Yudhishthira's humility in honoring Drupada as a teacher. Thus the text reveals tender consolation and reverence; and the father's anxiety gives way to peace.
