译文
Drona said: "Summoned for counsel, as well-wishers of Dhritarashtra, one should speak what is righteous, beneficial, and glorious — so have we heard; and my own opinion is the same as that of the great Bhishma: a share ought to be allotted to the sons of Kunti; this is the eternal dharma."

Here two righteous men stand united in dharma. It is significant that Drona at once aligns himself with Bhishma: the agreement of the wise in truth strengthens its testimony. Significant, too, is the measure set for counsel — "righteous, beneficial, glorious": a counselor is bound to speak not what pleases, but what is right. Here it becomes clear that a true advisor serves dharma, not the whims of the ruler. Thus scripture shows the concord of the righteous; and a truth spoken twice carries greater weight.
