एतैश् चान्यैश् च बहुभिः सहायैः पाण्डुनन्दनः ॥
वृतः श्लक्ष्णकथैः प्रायान् मरुद्भिर् इव वासवः ॥
रमणीयानि चित्राणि वनानि च सरांसि च ॥
सरितः सागरांश् चैव देशान् अपि च भारत ॥
पुण्यानि चैव तीर्थानि ददर्श भरतर्षभ ॥
स गङ्गाद्वारम् आसाद्य निवेशम् अकरोत् प्रभुः ॥
etaiś cānyaiś ca bahubhiḥ sahāyaiḥ pāṇḍunandanaḥ ||
vṛtaḥ ślakṣṇakathaiḥ prāyān marudbhir iva vāsavaḥ ||
ramaṇīyāni citrāṇi vanāni ca sarāṃsi ca ||
saritaḥ sāgarāṃś caiva deśān api ca bhārata ||
puṇyāni caiva tīrthāni dadarśa bharatarṣabha ||
sa gaṅgādvāram āsādya niveśam akarot prabhuḥ ||
"With these and many other companions, the joy of Pandu, surrounded by sweet-speaking ones, went forth like Vasava with the Maruts; he beheld lovely, varied forests and lakes, rivers and oceans, and countries, and sacred tirthas, O bull of the Bharatas; and having reached Gangadvara, the lord made camp."

Here exile turns into a blessed pilgrimage to holy tirthas. It is telling that Arjuna visits "sacred tirthas": deprived of home, he turns sorrow into a journey to holy places. The wise transform misfortune into spiritual good. Thus the scripture shows how Arjuna sanctifies his exile through pilgrimage; and the encampment at Gangadvara will become the site of a wondrous encounter.
