Even at a mere encampment, the sacred fires are the first thing kindled. It is telling that the camp begins with the agnihotra: the pious sanctify every place with the presence of the sacrificial fire. Devotees carry the worship of God with them wherever they go. Thus the scripture reveals the sanctity of the encampment; and Gangadvara is lit up by the fires of sacrifice.
