अर्बुदः शक्रवापी चarbudaḥ śakravāpī caArbuda and Shakravapi,
पन्नगौ शत्रु-तापनौpannagau śatru-tāpanautwo serpents, scorchers of enemies,
स्वस्तिकस्य आलयः च अत्रsvastikasya ālayaḥ ca atraand Svastika's abode here,
मणि-नागस्य च उत्तमःmaṇi-nāgasya ca uttamaḥand the finest of Maninaga;
अपरिहार्या मेघानाम्aparihāryā meghānāmthe clouds do not pass over

Here, in the midst of description, a verdict on pride sounds forth: the tyrant deems his fortune unfailing — and is thereby doomed. It is telling that confidence in the permanence of one's own happiness is the first sign of an approaching downfall: whoever considers himself unshakable is the very one who is brought down. Thus the text shows self-assurance as the herald of a fall; and further follows the heroes' entry into the city.
