译文

With fallen lords, pulverized gear and infantry, fallen horses and charioteers, stripped of banners and standards — with great chariots smashed, the earth gleamed like cities laid waste by the foe, O sovereign. With throngs of chariots and horses struck down by hundreds at a time, with gear and adornments of every sort strewn about, with tongues, teeth, entrails and eyes fallen out — the earth showed itself of dreadful, hideous form. Men who had shed their armor and adornments, bearing fine weapons, their host of elephants, horses and chariots destroyed, forever used to sumptuous beds and coverings, lie struck down on the bare earth as though forsaken.
