译文
In great distress they hewed that discus into many pieces. Then the son of Krishna, the great chariot-warrior, seized a huge mace. Stripped by his enemies of bow, chariot, sword, and wheel, Abhimanyu, mace in hand, charged at Ashvatthaman.

"Bhṛśam udvignāḥ" — "in great distress": even the destruction of the wheel comes to them not as a victory but as alarm. The verse lays bare the boy's disarmament through its very list of what was stripped from him — "vidhanuḥ-syandana-asiḥ… vicakraḥ": bow, chariot, sword, wheel — all hewn away. And yet his will is not broken: with a single mace he himself charges at Ashvatthaman. Here the verse teaches that valor is measured not by the weapon in hand but by an unbending spirit that still seeks out the enemy even when everything has been taken away.
