शिखण्डी तु ततः क्रुद्धश् छिन्ने धनुषि सत्वरम् ॥
असिं जग्राह समरे शतचन्द्रं च भास्वरम् ॥
भ्रामयित्वा महाचर्म चामीकरविभूषितम् ॥
तम् असिं प्रेषयाम् आस कृतवर्मरथं प्रति ॥
स तस्य सशरं चापं छित्त्वा संख्ये महान् असिः ॥
अभ्यगाद् धरणीं राजंश् च्युतं ज्योतिर् इवाम्बरात् ॥

च्युतम् ज्योतिः इव अम्बरात्cyutam jyotiḥ iva ambarātlike a light fallen [from] the sky; like a star fallen from the heavens
译文

And Shikhandin then, enraged, [with] his bow cut, swiftly seized a sword in battle and a gleaming, hundred-mooned [shield]. Having whirled the great gold-adorned shield, he hurled that sword [at] the chariot of Kritavarman. That great sword, having cut his bow together with the arrow in battle, went [into] the ground, O king, like a light fallen [from] the sky.
