यत् तत् पूर्वम् उपाकुर्वन्न् अस्त्रं माम् अब्रवीत् कृपः ॥
न कथं चन कौरव्य प्रहर्तव्यं गुराव् इति ॥
तद् इदं वचनं साधोर् आचार्यस्य महात्मनः ॥
नानुष्ठितं तम् एवाजौ विशिखैर् अभिवर्षता ॥
नमस् तस्मै सुपूज्याय गौतमायापलायिने ॥
धिग् अस्तु मम वार्ष्णेय यो ह्य् अस्मै प्रहराम्य् अहम् ॥

译文

"That which formerly, when imparting to me knowledge of weapons, Kripa said to me: 'In no way at all, O Kauravya, must one strike the teacher' — this word of the virtuous, great-souled teacher I have not fulfilled: I struck him himself in battle, showering him with arrows. Homage to that most worthy of honor, Gautama [Kripa], who never flees; shame upon me, O Varshneya, that I strike at him."
