सात्यकिं विरथं दृष्ट्वा कर्णं चाभ्युद्यतायुधम् ॥
दध्मौ शङ्खं महावेगम् आर्षभेणाथ माधवः ॥
दारुको ऽवेत्य संदेशं श्रुत्वा शङ्खस्य च स्वनम् ॥
रथम् अन्वानयत् तस्मै सुपर्णोच्छ्रितकेतनम् ॥
स केशवस्यानुमते रथं दारुकसंयुतम् ॥
आरुरोह शिनेः पौत्रो ज्वलनादित्यसंनिभम् ॥
कामगैः सैन्यसुग्रीवमेघपुष्पबलाहकैः ॥
हयोदग्रैर् महावेगैर् हेमभाण्डविभूषितैः ॥
युक्तं समारुह्य च तं विमानप्रतिमं रथम् ॥
अभ्यद्रवत राधेयं प्रवपन् सायकान् बहून् ॥

sa keśavasyānumate rathaṃ dārukasaṃyutam ||
āruroha śineḥ pautro jvalanādityasaṃnibham ||
kāmagaiḥ sainyasugrīvameghapuṣpabalāhakaiḥ ||
hayodagrair mahāvegair hemabhāṇḍavibhūṣitaiḥ ||
yuktaṃ samāruhya ca taṃ vimānapratimaṃ ratham ||
abhyadravata rādheyaṃ pravapan sāyakān bahūn ||
Seeing Satyaki without a chariot and Karna with weapon raised, Madhava [Krishna] blew the mighty-sounding conch, the Arshabheya. Daruka, understanding the command and hearing the sound of the conch, brought him a chariot bearing the standard of Suparna [Garuda]. With Keshava's leave, he mounted the chariot driven by Daruka, resembling the blazing sun, yoked with the swift-going horses — Sainya, Sugriva, Meghapushpa, Balahaka — tall, swift, adorned with golden harness. Having mounted that chariot, like a celestial car, Satyaki charged at Radheya, sowing a multitude of arrows.

Satyaki, left on foot, mounts Krishna's own chariot with its divine horses: the devoted one, in his hour of need, is given the support of the Lord Himself. It is notable that the horses are called "going wherever willed" — the highest means obeys the righteous will. The verse teaches that one who has served faithfully is never left without help from above; and the Lord's chariot, given to a friend, is an image of the shelter with which He guards His own.
