Against the cloud of doom Karna sets the weapon of Vayu — the wind that scatters clouds: element answers element. It is telling that Ghatotkacha, dispersed, again "laughing" works a new sorcery — he is untiring. The verse teaches that the struggle of two masters is an endless exchange of moves and counters; and as long as neither is broken in spirit, the contest continues — for true perseverance meets each defeat with a fresh design, not despair.
