Translation

"Then the eldest among them, rising, matted-locked and clad in skins, having ascertained the mind of the other great sages, spoke thus: 'That heir of Kuru, the ruler named Pandu, having abandoned the pleasures of desire, went hence to Shatashringa; and to him, who stood in the vow of celibacy, by a divine cause, this son, Yudhishthira, was born directly from the god Dharma; and likewise, to that great king, Matarishvan (Vayu) gave as a son this one, foremost among the mighty — Bhima, of great strength; from Indra this valiant Arjuna was born to Kunti, whose fame will surpass all the great archers.'"
