Here the mere twang of Gandiva strikes terror. It is significant that at the sound of the string being drawn 'the mind is shaken': a fearsome power reveals itself even before the blow falls. A might blessed from above terrifies by its very sign. Thus the scripture reveals the dreadfulness of Gandiva; and its twang is the herald of the irresistible.
