भित्त्वानीकं महेष्वासः परेषां बहुशो युधि ॥
कच्चिन् न निहतः शेते सौभद्रः परवीरहा ॥
लोहिताक्षं महाबाहुं जातं सिंहम् इवाद्रिषु ॥
उपेन्द्रसदृशं ब्रूत कथम् आयोधने हतः ॥

bhittvānīkaṃ maheṣvāsaḥ pareṣāṃ bahuśo yudhi ||
kaccin na nihataḥ śete saubhadraḥ paravīrahā ||
lohitākṣaṃ mahābāhuṃ jātaṃ siṃham ivādriṣu ||
upendrasadṛśaṃ brūta katham āyodhane hataḥ ||

Traducción

"Does not the son of Subhadra lie slain, the slayer of enemy heroes, the mighty archer who many times in battle broke the foemen's array? Red-eyed, mighty-armed, [like] a lion born in the mountains, like Upendra — tell me, how was he slain in the fray?"
