ग्निवेश्यो प्रादात् ते ध्नामि र्म ते
वाद्य देक्षार्थं न्त्रे नृत्त
संजय उवाच
वम् क्त्वा तो द्रोणस् पुत्रं हाद्युतिः
पुनर् चः प्रा नैर् चार्यपुंवः
ब्रह्मसूत्रे ध्नामि चं पार्थि
हिण्यर्भे था द्धं विष्णोः पुरा णे

agniveśyo mama prāt tena badhnāmi varma te ||
tadya deharakṣārthaṃ mantreṇa nṛpasattama ||
saṃjaya uvāca
evam uktvā tato droṇas tava putraṃ madyutiḥ ||
punar eva vacaḥ prāha śanair āryapuṃgavaḥ ||
brahmatreṇa badhnāmi kavacaṃ tava rthiva ||
hiraṇyagarbheṇa yathā baddhaṃ viṣṇoḥ pu raṇe ||

Traducción

"Agnivesya gave it to me; with it I now bind your armor for the protection of your body, by the mantra, O best of kings." Having spoken thus, Drona, the resplendent bull among teachers, then again softly spoke a word to your son: "With the brahma-thread I bind your armor, O king, as Vishnu's was bound of old in battle by Hiranyagarbha [Brahma]."
