न दूरे ते गताः क्षुद्रास् तावद् गच्छामहे सह ॥
यावद् आवर्तयाम्य् अद्य चोरहस्ताद् धनं तव ॥

Here the protector firmly promises to restore what was taken. Telling is the resolute "I shall now bring it back": one who has fulfilled duty in his heart no longer delays in deed. True protection does not stop at consolation, but restores to the wronged what is theirs. Thus scripture shows Arjuna's effective compassion; and his word is about to become deed.
