इत्य् उक्तो धर्मराजस् तु सहसा वाक्यम् अप्रियम् ॥
कथम् इत्य् अब्रवीद् वाचा शोकार्तः सज्जमानया ॥
युधिष्ठिरो गुडाकेशं भ्राता भ्रातरम् अच्युतम् ॥

Here brotherly love trembles before the coming parting. It is significant that Yudhishthira's voice breaks with grief: the approaching separation from his brother wounds his heart. Here is the tenderness of brotherly love, for which parting is sorrow. Thus the scripture shows the elder's grief; and his love will try to hold Arjuna back.
