एवम् आश्वास्य भगिनीं द्रौपदीम् अपि चोत्तराम् ॥
पार्थस्यैव महाबाहुः पार्श्वम् आगाद् अरिंदमः ॥
ततो ऽभ्यनुज्ञाय नृपान् कृष्णो बन्धूंस् तथाभिभूः ॥
विवेशान्तःपुरं राजंस् ते ऽन्ये जग्मुर् यथालयम् ॥
evam āśvāsya bhaginīṃ draupadīm api cottarām ||
pārthasyaiva mahābāhuḥ pārśvam āgād ariṃdamaḥ ||
tato 'bhyanujñāya nṛpān kṛṣṇo bandhūṃs tathābhibhūḥ ||
viveśāntaḥpuraṃ rājaṃs te 'nye jagmur yathālayam ||
Thus having comforted his sister, and also Draupadi and Uttara, the mighty-armed tamer of foes came to Partha's side. Then, having taken leave of the kings, Krishna, the lord, together with his kinsmen, entered the inner apartments, o king; and the rest departed each to his own dwelling.

The chapter quietly closes: having comforted the women, Krishna returns to Partha, takes leave of the kings and kinsmen, and withdraws. After the storm of weeping comes the simplicity of a duty of love fulfilled. It is telling that the Lord does not leave the grieving until he has comforted them, and only then goes to the one with whom he will fulfill his vow the next morning. The verse teaches measure and order: even amid great calamity there is a time for tears and a time for action; having comforted the grieving, one must return to duty — for the coming day will demand not weeping, but the fulfillment of a given word.
