सो ऽब्रवीत् स्वातं देवा ब्रू किं वाण्य् हम्
मोघं र्शनं ह्यं काप्राप्तिर् तो ऽस्तु वः
वम् क्तास् तु ते र्वे प्रत्यूचुस् तं दिवौसः
तेजो हृतं नो वृत्रे तिर् दिवौसाम्
मूर्तीर् क्षष्व नो दे प्रहारैर् र्जरीकृताः
णं त्वां प्रन्नाः स्म तिर् हेश्व

so 'brat svāgataṃ de brūta kiṃ karaṇy aham ||
amoghaṃ darśanaṃ mahyaṃ maprāptir ato 'stu vaḥ ||
evam uktās tu te sarve pratyūcus taṃ divaukasaḥ ||
tejo hṛtaṃ no vṛtreṇa gatir bhava divaukasām ||
rtīr īkṣaṣva no deva prarair jarjakṛtāḥ ||
śaraṇaṃ tvāṃ prapannāḥ sma gatir bhava maheśvara ||

एवम् उक्ताः तु ते सर्वेevam uktāḥ tu te sarvethus addressed, all of them; thus having heard, all of them
प्रत्यूचुः तम् दिवौकसःpratyūcuḥ tam divaukasaḥanswered him, the celestials; answered him, the celestials
तेजः हृतम् नः वृत्रेणtejaḥ hṛtam naḥ vṛtreṇa'our splendor has been stolen by Vritra'; 'our splendor has been stolen by Vritra'

अनुवाद

He said: "Welcome, gods; tell me what I should do. The sight of me is not fruitless — may your desire be fulfilled from this." Hearing this, all the celestials answered him: "Our splendor has been stolen by Vritra; be the refuge of the celestials. Behold our bodies, O god, mangled by blows; we have taken refuge in you — be our refuge, O Maheshvara."
