तस्माद् वै वाजिनो मुख्या विश्रान्ताः शुभलक्षणाः ॥
उपावृत्ताश् च पीताश् च पुनर् युज्यन्तु मे रथे ॥
तस्य सर्वान् उपासङ्गान् सर्वोपकरणानि च ॥
रथे प्रास्थापयद् राजा शस्त्राणि विविधानि च ॥
ततस् तान् सर्वतो मुक्त्वा सदश्वांश् चतुरो जनाः ॥
रसवत् पाययाम् आसुः पानं मदसमीरिणम् ॥

tasmād vai vājino mukhyā viśrāntāḥ śubhalakṣaṇāḥ ||
upāvṛttāś ca pītāś ca punar yujyantu me rathe ||
tasya sarvān upāsaṅgān sarvopakaraṇāni ca ||
rathe prāsthāpayad rājā śastrāṇi vividhāni ca ||
tatas tān sarvato muktvā sadaśvāṃś caturo janāḥ ||
rasavat pāyayām āsuḥ pānaṃ madasamīriṇam ||

शब्दशः अर्थ

विश्रान्ताः शुभलक्षणाःviśrāntāḥ śubhalakṣaṇāḥrested, of auspicious marks; rested, of fine form
उपावृत्ताः च पीताः चupāvṛttāḥ ca pītāḥ cabrought back and watered; led back and watered
पुनः युज्यन्तु मे रथेpunaḥ yujyantu me rathelet them again be yoked to my chariot; let them once more be yoked to my chariot
तस्य सर्वान् उपासङ्गान्tasya sarvān upāsaṅgānall his quivers; all his quivers
सर्वोपकरणानि चsarvopakaraṇāni caand all the equipment; and all the gear
रथे प्रास्थापयत् राजाrathe prāsthāpayat rājāthe king placed on the chariot; the king placed on the chariot
शस्त्राणि विविधानि चśastrāṇi vividhāni caand varied weapons; and every kind of weapon

सदश्वान् चतुरः जनाःsadaśvān caturaḥ janāḥthe four good horses, the men; the four fine horses, the men

पानम् मदसमीरिणम्pānam madasamīriṇama drink that stirs vigor; a drink that lends spirit
अनुवाद

“Therefore let the foremost horses, rested, of auspicious marks, brought back and watered, again be yoked to my chariot.” All his quivers and all his equipment, and varied weapons, the king placed upon the chariot. Then, having unyoked them entirely, the men watered the four good horses with a savory drink that stirs vigor.
