पीतोपवृत्तान् स्नातांश् च जग्धान्नान् समलंकृतान् ॥
विनीतशल्यांस् तुरगांश् चतुरो हेममालिनः ॥
तान् यत्तान् रुक्मवर्णाभान् विनीताञ् शीघ्रगामिनः ॥
संहृष्टमनसो ऽव्यग्रान् विधिवत् कल्पिते रथे ॥
महाध्वजेन सिंहेन हेमकेसरमालिना ॥
संवृते केतनैर् हेमैर् मणिविद्रुमचित्रितैः ॥
पाण्डुराभ्रप्रकाशाभिः पताकाभिर् अलंकृते ॥

Those horses — watered, led back, and bathed, fed, richly adorned, their thorns removed, four, in golden garlands, made ready, golden-hued, trained, swift-going, joyful in spirit, unperturbed — into the chariot duly equipped, with a lion as its great golden-maned banner, entwined with golden pennants adorned with gems and corals, with a parasol on a golden staff, with a covering of abundant weapons, [the charioteer] yoked them duly, decked in golden harness.

The verse teaches that fitting splendor befits a lofty deed: the array with which selfless service is outfitted is not vain, for it suits the honor of one going to a righteous exploit, as festive adornment suits a sacred rite.
