स्मिन्न् काले तु त्वमाणा हाथाः
विव्यधुः साकैर् गाढं कृर्माणम् वे
थान्यद् नुर् दा त्यक्त्वा तच् हद् नुः
विशीर्णं श्रेष्ठ हार्दिक्यः वीहा
विव्या पाण्डवान् युद्धे त्रिभिस् त्रिभिर् जिह्मगैः
शिण्डिनं विव्या त्रिभिः ञ्चभिर्

अथ अन्यत् धनुः आदायatha anyat dhanuḥ ādāyathen, having taken another bow; then, taking up another bow
त्यक्त्वा तत् च महत् धनुःtyaktvā tat ca mahat dhanuḥand having abandoned that great bow; and having cast aside that mighty bow
विशीर्णम् भरतश्रेष्ठviśīrṇam bharataśreṣṭhashattered, O best of the Bharatas; shattered, O foremost of the Bharatas
हार्दिक्यः परवीरहाhārdikyaḥ paravīrahāthe son of Hridika, slayer of enemy heroes; the son of Hridika, slayer of enemy heroes
विव्याध पाण्डवान् युद्धेvivyādha pāṇḍavān yuddhepierced the Pandavas in battle; struck the Pandavas in the fight
त्रिभिः त्रिभिः अजिह्मगैःtribhiḥ tribhiḥ ajihmagaiḥwith three straight-flying [arrows] each; with three straight [arrows] each

अनुवाद

[At] this very time the hastening great warriors pierced Kritavarman deeply with arrows [in] battle. Then, having taken another bow and abandoned that great bow, shattered, O best of the Bharatas, the son of Hridika, slayer of enemy heroes, pierced the Pandavas in battle with three straight-flying [arrows] each, and pierced Shikhandin with three and then with five.
