युक्ताश् च पार्वतीयानां रथाः पाषाणयोधिनाम् ॥
शूराः पञ्चशता राजञ् शैनेयं समुपाद्रवन् ॥
ततो रथसहस्रेण महारथशतेन च ॥
द्विरदानां सहस्रेण द्विसाहस्रैश् च वाजिभिः ॥
शरवर्षाणि मुञ्चन्तो विविधानि महारथाः ॥
अभ्यद्रवन्त शैनेयम् असंख्येयाश् च पत्तयः ॥
तांश् च संचोदयन् सर्वान् घ्नतैनम् इति भारत ॥
दुःशासनो महाराज सात्यक्तिं पर्यवारयत् ॥

yuktāś ca pārvatīyānāṃ rathāḥ pāṣāṇayodhinām ||
śūrāḥ pañcaśatā rājañ śaineyaṃ samupādravan ||
tato rathasahasreṇa mahārathaśatena ca ||
dviradānāṃ sahasreṇa dvisāhasraiś ca vājibhiḥ ||
śaravarṣāṇi muñcanto vividhāni mahārathāḥ ||
abhyadravanta śaineyam asaṃkhyeyāś ca pattayaḥ ||
tāṃś ca saṃcodayan sarvān ghnatainam iti bhārata ||
duḥśāsano mahārāja sātyaktiṃ paryavārayat ||

द्विसाहस्रैः च वाजिभिःdvisāhasraiḥ ca vājibhiḥand with two thousand horses; and with two thousand horses
शरवर्षाणि मुञ्चन्तःśaravarṣāṇi muñcantaḥreleasing showers of arrows; pouring out showers of arrows
विविधानि महारथाःvividhāni mahārathāḥvarious, the great warriors; of every kind, the mahārathas
अभ्यद्रवन्त शैनेयम्abhyadravanta śaineyamrushed upon Shaineya; fell upon Shaineya
असंख्येयाः च पत्तयःasaṃkhyeyāḥ ca pattayaḥand countless footmen; and countless foot-soldiers
तान् च संचोदयन् सर्वान्tān ca saṃcodayan sarvānand urging them all on; and spurring them all on
घ्नत एनम् इति भारतghnata enam iti bhārata"slay him!" O Bharata; "strike him down!" O descendant of Bharata
दुःशासनः महाराजduḥśāsanaḥ mahārājaDuhshasana, O great king; Duhshasana, O great king

अनुवाद

"And the equipped chariots of the mountaineers, the stone-throwing warriors, five hundred heroes, O king, rushed upon Shaineya. Then with a thousand chariots and a hundred great warriors, with a thousand elephants and two thousand horses, the great warriors, pouring out various showers of arrows, rushed upon Shaineya, along with countless foot-soldiers. And urging them all on — "Strike him down!", O Bharata — Duhshasana, O great king, surrounded Satyaki."
