ततः पञ्चशताः शूराः समुद्यतमहाशिलाः ॥
निकृत्तबाहवो राजन् निपेतुर् धरणीतले ॥
पाषाणयोधिनः शूरान् यतमानान् अवस्थितान् ॥
अवधीद् बहुसाहस्रांस् तद् अद्भुतम् इवाभवत् ॥

"Then five hundred heroes with great stones raised, their arms severed, O king, fell to the ground. The heroic stone-fighters, straining, standing firm, he slew by the many thousands — it was as if a wonder."

Five hundred, with stones raised, fall with their arms severed: the blow raised in evil never has time to land. It is telling that the swing of untruth is cut short in mid-motion. The verse teaches that retribution often overtakes evil before it can strike: the arm that raises a stone against the righteous is severed while still poised — for a blow aimed at truth is outrun by its own reckoning.
