ततः कृष्णो महाबाहू रजतप्रतिमान् हयान् ॥
हयज्ञश् चोदयाम् आस जयद्रथरथं प्रति ॥
तं प्रयान्तम् अमोघेषुम् उत्पतद्भिर् इवाशुगैः ॥
त्वरमाणा महाराज सेनामुख्याः समाव्रजन् ॥
दुर्योधनश् च कर्णश् च वृषसेनो ऽथ मद्रराट् ॥
अश्वत्थामा कृपश् चैव स्वयम् एव च सैन्धवः ॥

hayajñaś codayām āsa jayadratharathaṃ prati ||
taṃ prayāntam amogheṣum utpatadbhir ivāśugaiḥ ||
tvaramāṇā mahārāja senāmukhyāḥ samāvrajan ||
duryodhanaś ca karṇaś ca vṛṣaseno 'tha madrarāṭ ||
aśvatthāmā kṛpaś caiva svayam eva ca saindhavaḥ ||

अनुवाद

Then Krishna the mighty-armed, knower of horses, drove the horses, resembling silver, toward the chariot of Jayadratha. As he rode on with arrows unfailing in their aim, as though with swift birds swooping upward, the chiefs of the army, hastening, O great king, closed in around him: Duryodhana and Karna, Vrishasena, then the king of Madra [Shalya], Ashvatthaman and Kripa, and Saindhava himself.
