श्लिष्टं तु सर्वतश् चक्रू रथमण्डलम् आशु ते ॥
सूर्यास्तमयम् इच्छन्तस् त्वरमाणा महारथाः ॥
त एनम् अभिनर्दन्तो विधुन्वाना धनूंषि च ॥
सिषिचुर् मार्गणैर् घोरैर् गिरिं मेघा इवाम्बुभिः ॥
ते महास्त्राणि दिव्यानि तत्र राजन् व्यदर्शयन् ॥
धनंजयस्य गात्रेषु शूराः परिघबाहवः ॥
हतभूयिष्ठयोधं तत् कृत्वा तव बलं बली ॥
आससाद दुराधर्षः सैन्धवं सत्यविक्रमः ॥

sūryāstamayam icchantas tvaramāṇā mahārathāḥ ||
ta enam abhinardanto vidhunvānā dhanūṃṣi ca ||
siṣicur mārgaṇair ghorair giriṃ meghā ivāmbubhiḥ ||
te mahāstrāṇi divyāni tatra rājan vyadarśayan ||
dhanaṃjayasya gātreṣu śūrāḥ parighabāhavaḥ ||
hatabhūyiṣṭhayodhaṃ tat kṛtvā tava balaṃ balī ||
āsasāda durādharṣaḥ saindhavaṃ satyavikramaḥ ||

अनुवाद

The maharathas, hastening and wishing for sunset, quickly closed the circle of chariots on every side. Roaring at him and brandishing their bows, they drenched him with dreadful arrows, as clouds drench a mountain with waters. There, O king, those heroes with arms like iron bars displayed their great divine astras on Dhananjaya's limbs. Having reduced your army to one where most of the warriors were slain, the mighty, unassailable, truly valorous Arjuna reached Saindhava.
