निपेतुर् द्विरदा भूमौ द्विशृङ्गा इव पर्वताः ॥
निकृत्तैर् हस्तिहस्तैश् च विचलद्भिर् इतस् ततः ॥
रराज वसुधा कीर्णा विसर्पद्भिर् इवोरगैः ॥
क्षिप्तैः काञ्चनदण्डैश् च नृपच्छत्रैः क्षितिर् बभौ ॥
द्यौर् इवोदितचन्द्रार्का ग्रहाकीर्णा युगक्षये ॥
प्रवृद्धध्वजमण्डूकां भेरीविस्तीर्णकच्छपाम् ॥
छत्रहंसावलीजुष्टां फेनचामरमालिनीम् ॥

अनुवाद

Struck deep by straight-flying narachas, the elephants fell to the ground like twin-peaked mountains. And the earth shone, strewn with severed elephant trunks writhing here and there like crawling serpents. And with the cast-down golden staffs of royal parasols, the earth shone like the sky with moon and sun risen, strewn with planets at the end of the world. [A river of blood:] with banner-frogs raised aloft, with kettledrum-turtles, peopled with parasols like flocks of geese, garlanded with foam like fly-whisks...
