ततः शक्रः स्पृष्टमात्रः तया तु स्रस्तैः अङ्गैः पतितः अभूत् धरण्याम्tataḥ śakraḥ spṛṣṭamātraḥ tayā tu srastaiḥ aṅgaiḥ patitaḥ abhūt dharaṇyāmthen Shakra, merely touched by her, with limbs gone slack, fell to the ground;
तम् अब्रवीत् भगवान् उग्रतेजाः मा एवं पुनः शक्र कृथाः कथं चित्tam abravīt bhagavān ugratejāḥ mā evaṃ punaḥ śakra kṛthāḥ kathaṃ citthe fiercely radiant lord said to him: "never do so again, O Shakra, in any way;
विवर्तय एनं च महाद्रिराजं बलं च वीर्यं च तव अप्रमेयम्vivartaya enaṃ ca mahādrirājaṃ balaṃ ca vīryaṃ ca tava aprameyammove aside this great king of mountains -- your strength and valor are immeasurable --
विवृत्य च एव आविश मध्यम् अस्य यत्र आसते त्वद्विधाः सूर्यभासःvivṛtya ca eva āviśa madhyam asya yatra āsate tvadvidhāḥ sūryabhāsaḥand, having opened it, enter its interior, where those like you, sun-bright, dwell";

Here the humbled Indra learns that he is not the first. It is telling that the command to enter that place, "where those like you dwell," reveals to the one who imagined himself the sole lord that he has predecessors. Here is the healing of pride through knowledge: let the one who thought himself unequaled behold his equals. Thus scripture shows the lesson sent to Indra; and the cave holds the evidence of his non-uniqueness.
