ततः व्यासः परमोदारकर्मा शुचिः विप्रः तपसा तस्य राज्ञःtataḥ vyāsaḥ paramodārakarmā śuciḥ vipraḥ tapasā tasya rājñaḥthen Vyasa, most noble in his deeds, a pure brahmin, by the power of his austerity, to that king
चक्षुः दिव्यं प्रददौ तान् सः सर्वान् राजा अपश्यत् पूर्वदेहैः यथावत्cakṣuḥ divyaṃ pradadau tān saḥ sarvān rājā apaśyat pūrvadehaiḥ yathāvatgranted divine sight; and the king saw them all in their former bodies, exactly as they had been;
ततः दिव्यान् हेमकिरीटमालिनः शक्रप्रख्यान् पावकादित्यवर्णान्tataḥ divyān hemakirīṭamālinaḥ śakraprakhyān pāvakādityavarṇānand he beheld them radiant, in golden crowns and garlands, resembling Shakra, the color of fire and sun,
बद्धापीडान् चारुरूपान् च यूनः व्यूढोरस्कान् तालमात्रान् ददर्शbaddhāpīḍān cārurūpān ca yūnaḥ vyūḍhoraskān tālamātrān dadarśawith diadems bound on, beautiful in form, youthful, broad-chested, tall as palm trees, he saw them;
दिव्यैः वस्त्रैः अरजोभिः सुवर्णैः माल्यैः च अग्र्यैः शोभमानान् अतीवdivyaiḥ vastraiḥ arajobhiḥ suvarṇaiḥ mālyaiḥ ca agryaiḥ śobhamānān atīvashining exceedingly in divine, spotless golden garments and peerless garlands,
साक्षात् त्र्यक्षान् वसवः वा अथ दिव्यान् आदित्यान् वा सर्वगुणोपपन्नान्sākṣāt tryakṣān vasavaḥ vā atha divyān ādityān vā sarvaguṇopapannānas if beholding in person the three-eyed ones [Rudras], or the divine Vasus, or the Adityas, endowed with every virtue;
तान् पूर्वेन्द्रान् एवम् ईक्ष्य अभिरूपान् प्रीतः राजा द्रुपदः विस्मितः चtān pūrvendrān evam īkṣya abhirūpān prītaḥ rājā drupadaḥ vismitaḥ cabeholding those former Indras, so beautiful, King Drupada was delighted and amazed;

Here purified vision discloses the celestial nature of the Pandavas. It is telling that beneath the rags of wanderers Drupada now sees radiant gods: the true nature was concealed until the divine eye was opened. This shows that spiritual sight perceives what is inaccessible to the flesh: the Lord grants the devoted the ability to see the divine. The verse reveals a transformed way of seeing, and the king's doubt dissolves into reverent wonder.
