रात्रौ परासुम् उत्सृज्य निश्चक्रमुर् अरिंदमाः ॥

आरोप्य भ्रातरौ चैव मोक्षयाम् आस बान्धवान् ॥

译文
Then, having left that king at the gates of the royal palace, lifeless, as though asleep, the tamers of foes went forth by night. Krishna, having yoked Jarasandha's bannered chariot and mounted it with his two brothers, freed the captive kings.

The tyrant's body is left "as though asleep" at his own gates — without desecration, but without honor either. It is significant that the victors' first act is not celebration but liberation: no sooner had the oppressor fallen than the captives were restored to life. The verse teaches that the aim of righteous war is not the enemy's death for its own sake, but the deliverance of those who suffered; and the tyrant's own chariot now serves the cause of freedom that he had trampled underfoot.
