तथा प्रभाते कर्तास्मि यथा कृष्ण सुयोधनः ॥
नान्यं धनुर्धरं लोके मंस्यते मत्समं युधि ॥
गाण्डीवं च धनुर् दिव्यं योद्धा चाहं नरर्षभ ॥
त्वं च यन्ता हृषीकेश किं नु स्याद् अजितं मया ॥

"So at dawn I shall act, O Krishna, that Suyodhana should not deem any other archer in the world equal to me in battle. Gandiva is the divine bow, and I am the warrior, O bull among men, and you are the charioteer, O Hrishikesha: what then could remain unconquered by me?"

The core of Arjuna's confidence lies in the third condition: "tvaṃ ca yantā hṛṣīkeśa", "and you are the charioteer." A divine bow and a skilled warrior count for much, but everything is decided by the fact that the Lord Himself drives the chariot. "Kiṃ nu syād ajitaṃ mayā", "what is unconquered by me?" is not pride but a conclusion drawn from Krishna's presence. It is telling that Arjuna places himself only as the second link, and Hrishikesha as the first. The verse teaches the essence of devotion: a man's strength lies not in his weapon and skill but in the fact that God rules his life; where the charioteer is the Lord, no enemy is unconquerable.
