यथा हि यात्वा संग्रामे न जीये विजयामि च ॥
तेन सत्येन संग्रामे हतं विद्धि जयद्रथम् ॥
ध्रुवं वै ब्राह्मणे सत्यं ध्रुवा साधुषु संनतिः ॥
श्रीर् ध्रुवा चापि दक्षेषु ध्रुवो नारायणे जयः ॥

The crown of the chapter is "dhruvo nārāyaṇe jayaḥ" — victory is unfailing in Narayana. Arjuna grounds the certainty of his vow in four unfailing truths of existence: truth in the brahmin, humility in the righteous, fortune in the diligent — and victory, abiding in the Lord Himself. It is telling that he does not claim his own coming victory as his own but places it in Narayana: it is not Arjuna who conquers, but the Lord through him. This is the heart of the Gaudiya vision: "jayaḥ" belongs to God. The verse teaches that every true victory comes from Narayana and rests in Narayana; to the human being is given only to become the instrument of a victory that already, inalienably, abides in the Lord.
