प्रतोदैश् चापकोटीभिर् हुंकारैः साधुवाहितैः ॥
कशापार्ष्ण्यभिघातैश् च वाग्भिर् उग्राभिर् एव च ॥
चोदयन्तो हयांस् तूर्णं पलायन्ते स्म तावकाः ॥
सादिनो रथिनश् चैव पत्तयश् चार्जुनार्दिताः ॥
पार्ष्ण्यङ्गुष्ठाङ्कुशैर् नागांश् चोदयन्तस् तथापरे ॥
शरैः संमोहिताश् चान्ये तम् एवाभिमुखा ययौ ॥
तव योधा हतोत्साहा विभ्रान्तमनसस् तदा ॥

With goads, with the tips of bows, with cries of "hum", with skillful urging, and with blows of whip and heel, and with fierce words, hastily urging on their horses, your [warriors] fled -- horsemen and chariot-warriors and footmen, tormented by Arjuna. Others, urging on their elephants with heels, with toes, with goads; and others, stunned by arrows, rushed straight toward him, facing him.
