译文

Having heard that word of his, the son of Drona, the great charioteer, bowed to Rudra and highly honored Keshava. With hair standing on end [in joy] and self-possessed, having bowed to the great sage [Vyasa], he turned to the army and arranged its retreat. Then the withdrawal of the Pandavas took place, O lord of the peoples, and of the dejected Kauravas, after Drona had been struck down in battle. Having waged battle for five days, Drona, having slain the army, went to the world of Brahma, O king — a brahmin who had mastered the Vedas.
