तत उच्छिद्यमानेषु भृगुष्व् एवं भयात् तदा ॥
भृगुपत्न्यो गिरिं तात हिमवन्तं प्रपेदिरे ॥
तासाम् अन्यतमा गर्भं भयाद् दाधार तैजसम् ॥
ऊरुणैकेन वामोरूर् भर्तुः कुलविवृद्धये ॥
ददृशुर् ब्राह्मणीं तां ते दीप्यमानां स्वतेजसा ॥
tata ucchidyamāneṣu bhṛguṣv evaṃ bhayāt tadā ||
bhṛgupatnyo giriṃ tāta himavantaṃ prapedire ||
tāsām anyatamā garbhaṃ bhayād dādhāra taijasam ||
ūruṇaikena vāmorūr bhartuḥ kulavivṛddhaye ||
dadṛśur brāhmaṇīṃ tāṃ te dīpyamānāṃ svatejasā ||
'At such extermination of the Bhrigus, out of fear, their wives went to Mount Himavat; and one of them, the lovely-thighed one, out of fear carried in one thigh a fiery embryo for the increase of her husband's line. And the kshatriyas saw that brahmin woman, blazing with her own splendor.'

Here life itself hides away so that the line might not be cut off. It is telling that amid the slaughter a fiery embryo survives, hidden in the mother's thigh: where evil imagines it has destroyed everything, providence preserves the seed for continuation. Here it is shown that a virtuous line is not cut off to the end: hidden in time of need, it sprouts again. Telling too is the brahmin woman's radiance, betraying the hidden power. Thus the scripture shows that violence cannot destroy everything: the Bhrigus' fiery seed is kept for retribution and continuation.
