संश्रुत्योदाहृतं वाक्यं भूतम् अन्तर्हितं ततः ॥
पुत्रस्नेहाभिसंतप्ता जननी वाक्यम् अब्रवीत् ॥
येनेदम् ईरितं वाक्यं ममैव तनयं प्रति ॥
प्राञ्जलिस् तं नमस्यामि ब्रवीतु स पुनर् वचः ॥
श्रोतुम् इच्छामि पुत्रस्य को ऽस्य मृत्युर् भविष्यति ॥
अन्तर्हितं ततो भूतम् उवाचेदं पुनर् वचः ॥

saṃśrutyodāhṛtaṃ vākyaṃ bhūtam antarhitaṃ tataḥ ||
putrasnehābhisaṃtaptā jananī vākyam abravīt ||
yenedam īritaṃ vākyaṃ mamaiva tanayaṃ prati ||
prāñjalis taṃ namasyāmi bravītu sa punar vacaḥ ||
śrotum icchāmi putrasya ko 'sya mṛtyur bhaviṣyati ||
antarhitaṃ tato bhūtam uvācedaṃ punar vacaḥ ||

Translation

"Having heard the word spoken, when the voice then vanished, the mother, inflamed with love for her son, spoke: "To the one by whom this word was uttered concerning my son, I bow with joined palms; let him speak again. I wish to hear who will be my son's death." And the hidden voice spoke this word once more:"
