क्रुद्धं तु शक्रं प्रसमीक्ष्य देवो; जहास शक्रं च शनैर् उदैक्षत ॥
संस्तम्भितो ऽभूद् अथ देवराजस्; तेनेक्षितः स्थाणुर् इवावतस्थे ॥
यदा तु पर्याप्तम् इहास्य क्रीडया; तदा देवीं रुदतीं ताम् उवाच ॥
आनीयताम् एष यतो ऽहम् आरान्; मैनं दर्पः पुनर् अप्य् आविशेत ॥

saṃstambhito 'bhūd atha devarājas; tenekṣitaḥ sthāṇur ivāvatasthe ||
yadā tu paryāptam ihāsya krīḍayā; tadā devīṃ rudatīṃ tām uvāca ||
ānīyatām eṣa yato 'ham ārān; mainaṃ darpaḥ punar apy āviśeta ||

आनीयताम् एषः यतः अहम् आरात् मा एनं दर्पः पुनः अपि आविशेतānīyatām eṣaḥ yataḥ aham ārāt mā enaṃ darpaḥ punaḥ api āviśeta"let him be brought here, for I am not far off; let pride never again enter into him";
