उपतिष्ठन्ति च अपि एनम्upatiṣṭhanti ca api enamand there stand before him
प्रजानाम् पतयः प्रभुम्prajānām patayaḥ prabhumthe lords of creatures, before the Lord:
दक्षः प्रचेताः पुलहःdakṣaḥ pracetāḥ pulahaḥDaksha, Pracetas, Pulaha,
मरीचिः कश्यपः तथाmarīciḥ kaśyapaḥ tathāMarichi, Kashyapa,
भृगुः अत्रिः वसिष्ठः चbhṛguḥ atriḥ vasiṣṭhaḥ caBhrigu, Atri, Vasishtha,
गौतमः च तथा अङ्गिराःgautamaḥ ca tathā aṅgirāḥGautama and Angiras;
मनः अन्तरिक्षम् विद्याः चmanaḥ antarikṣam vidyāḥ caMind, space, the branches of knowledge,
वायुः तेजः जलम् महीvāyuḥ tejaḥ jalam mahīwind, fire, water, earth;
शब्दः स्पर्शः तथा रूपम्śabdaḥ sparśaḥ tathā rūpamsound, touch, form,

Here before the Creator stand not only the Prajapatis but the very elements and first principles of being — prakriti and its transformations. It is telling that even the abstract foundations of creation appear as living presences: to the Vedic gaze the whole fabric of the world is animate and subject to the Creator. So the text reveals the all-encompassing nature of Brahma's assembly; and the list continues.
