द्रोणकर्णकृपैर् गुप्तां महेष्वासैः प्रहारिभिः ॥
कस् तां सेनां तदा पार्थ मनसापि प्रधर्षयेत् ॥
ऋते देवान् महेष्वासाद् बहुरूपान् महेश्वरात् ॥
स्थातुम् उत्सहते कश् चिन् न तस्मिन्न् अग्रतः स्थिते ॥
न हि भूतं समं तेन त्रिषु लोकेषु विद्यते ॥
गन्धेनापि हि संग्रामे तस्य क्रुद्धस्य शत्रवः ॥
विसंज्ञा हतभूयिष्ठा वेपन्ति च पतन्ति च ॥

droṇakarṇakṛpair guptāṃ maheṣvāsaiḥ prahāribhiḥ ||
kas tāṃ senāṃ tadā pārtha manasāpi pradharṣayet ||
ṛte devān maheṣvāsād bahurūpān maheśvarāt ||
sthātum utsahate kaś cin na tasminn agrataḥ sthite ||
na hi bhūtaṃ samaṃ tena triṣu lokeṣu vidyate ||
gandhenāpi hi saṃgrāme tasya kruddhasya śatravaḥ ||
visaṃjñā hatabhūyiṣṭhā vepanti ca patanti ca ||

"Guarded by Drona, Karna, Kripa, by great striking archers — who then, O Partha, could overwhelm that army even in thought, except the gods, [and] the great archer of many forms, Maheshvara? No one dares to stand when he stands before them; for there is no being equal to him in the three worlds. Even from the mere scent, in battle, of him enraged, the enemies, losing their senses, mostly slain, tremble and fall."
